This 7’2” splitcane fly rod is built to the same taper as my other 7.2 ft. #4 model. It has a refined yet lively action, making it a particularly enjoyable rod for dry-fly fishing. At the same time, it retains enough power to handle a variety of fishing situations.
The rod is fitted with hand-planed bamboo ferrules and gunsmoke snake guides. The beautifully figured burl wood reel seat gives the rod a natural and distinctive character. The wraps are finished in dark green with bright red tipping, all made with Pearsall’s Gossamer silk.
With its slightly more parabolic action, this rod has been designed with precision and care to provide a smooth, responsive feel in the hand. It is particularly well suited to smaller waters, where accurate and delicate presentations are often essential, especially when fishing beneath overhanging vegetation or in other challenging conditions.
A traditional split cane fly rod with a distinctive character, carefully crafted to balance finesse, responsiveness and versatility.
