Every now and then, you fish alongside someone who carries a rod that instantly makes you think: I want one like that. Inspired by such a moment, I created this handcrafted hollow-built splitcane fly rod, based on the classic Hardy “CC de France” taper and fitted with bamboo ferrules.
The rod features gunsmoke snake guides and light brown silk wraps with delicate intermediate windings, giving it a refined and timeless appearance. Measuring 8 feet in length and designed for a #5 line, it has a slightly parabolic action with plenty of body to cast heavier flies with ease.
Finished with a handmade cork grip and a burled wood reel seat, this rod combines elegance, tradition, and performance—a tribute to the inspiration found on the water and the craftsmanship that brings it to life.
