Restoration of classic splitcane fly rods

In addition to building new splitcane fly rods, I also restore classic rods with the utmost respect for their history and character. The art of restoration lies in doing no more than is absolutely necessary—preserving the originality and soul of each piece.

Wherever possible, I reuse the original components such as reel seats and snake guides, ensuring that the rod retains its authentic identity. For the wraps, I often work with Pearsall’s Gossamer silk, which offers both durability and a timeless, traditional look.

Every restoration is guided by the same principles as my rod building: craftsmanship, sensitivity, and an appreciation for the heritage of split cane. The result is a rod that remains true to its past, ready to be fished and cherished once again.
